Sir,
I have to call your attention to the letter which was addressed to you from this Department on the 28th of June 1866, requesting you to favor Mr. Secretary Cardwell with your opinion with respect to the British Columbia Ordinance No. 10ofManuscript image of 1866 entitled "An Ordinance conferring certain privileges on the Williams Creek Bed Rock Flume Company," and especially as regards the exclusive right of way conferred by it upon a particular Mining Company.
In compliance with your request you were permitted to withhold your report on the Ordinance until your return to British Columbia. As however no Despatch has been received from you on the subjectIManuscript image I have to call your attention to the above papers, and to request that you will furnish me without further delay with a Report on the subject.
