No. 125
26 September 1870
Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 109 of the 12th August last in which you recommend a grant of $250 to Mr. Ker on account of his services in auditing the Crown Fund accounts connectedwithManuscript image with the occupation of San Juan. I do not feel authorized to sanction a special payment on these grounds as I consider it the duty of the Auditor to audit the accounts of the whole public Revenue, but I have no objection to your proposing to the Legislature this grant, when the Crown Fund shall have been merged into the general accounts of the Colony.
I have the honor to be
Sir,
Your most obedient
humble Servant
