Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to request you will inform the Earl of Kimberley that Rear Admiral Farquhar in a letter dated the 17th January reports that the "Scylla"hadManuscript image had left Esquimalt on the 4th October last to visit Nanaimo, Bute Inlet, Port Augusta, Departure Bay and Burrard Inlet; also that the "Sparrowhawk" had been employed conveying the Governor of British Columbia on a tour of inspection, visiting the various ports on the Coast of Vancouver, and had afterwards proceeded to Nanaimo to prevent outrages on the part of the disaffected miners.
