In reply to your letter of the 22d Instant; I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, that they have directed their Solicitor to repay Mr Smith the Chief Clerk of the Colonial Office the
£ 38 " 10 · 3d
sum of thirty eight pounds, ten shillings and threepence, that being the amount advanced by him for the Commission issued under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom, empowering their Lordships to appoint a Vice Admiral and other Officers required for a CourtofManuscript image of Vice Admiralty in the Island of Vancouver.
