Sir,
I am directed to acknowledge the Receipt of your letter of the 8th Inst, transmitting for the information of the Directors of the Hudson's Bay Company, the copy of a letter from the Secretary to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, accompanied by the Copy of a letter dated the 27th June last (No 54) from Rear Admiral Moresby Commander in Chief in the Pacific and of its enclosure, detailing his proceedings at Vancouver's Island and reporting on the state of affairs there.
The Directors of the Hudson's Bay Company request that you will convey to Earl Grey their thanks for the communication of these documents.
