I have to acknowledge the receipt on the 16th April last of a printed circular from your Grace, dated 3rd May 1853, transmitting for my information and guidance the copy of a letter from the Board of Trade, together with its enclosures, by which I perceive that Her Majesty's Government have decided that the produce of the East Indian States of Cochin and Travancore, should be admitted into the Ports of the United Kingdom, and of the British Colonies, as the produce of British Possessions. I havetoManuscript image to assure your Grace that the decision of Her Majesty's Government, in that case, shall be made public in this Colony.
