CO staff suggest adding to a letter for the HBC that Bruce himself will be arriving on Vancouver Island.
Bruce writes to Osborne, advising that the Alarm will arrive on Vancouver Island “in early July, and that Bruce should arrive in his flagship the first week in August.”

copy of a letter from Rear Admiral Bruce, reporting the steps he had
taken for the protection of Vancouvers Island.
