Abstract
Public Offices document. Minutes (1), Enclosures (untranscribed) (1).
Osborne forwards a letter to Merivale from Admiral Bruce regarding “the steps he had taken for the protection of Vancouvers Island.”
CO staff suggest adding to a letter for the HBC that Bruce himself will be arriving on Vancouver Island.
Bruce writes to Osborne, advising that the Alarm will arrive on Vancouver Island “in early July, and that Bruce should arrive in his flagship the first week in August.”

Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit to you, for the information of Mr Secretary Labouchere, a copy of a letter from Rear Admiral Bruce, reporting the steps he had taken for the protection of Vancouvers Island.
