Hill writes to the Colonial Office to confirm that letters from the CO are enroute to
Vancouver Island via Boston and San Francisco on the “Arabia.”
Memo, Hill to Elliot (Assistant Under-Secretary)
Mr Rowland Hill presents his compliments to Mr Elliot,
and with reference to his note of the 27th instant, begs to state,
that the packet addressed to Van Couvers Island transmitted to this
Office with Mr Merivale's letter of the 10th instant, was
forwarded to its destination by the Packet "Arabia" on the 11th
instant, via Boston and San Francisco.
