I have to acknolwedge your letter of 3rd instant enclosing one from the Governor of the Hudson's Bay Co, in which it is stated that in compliance with the desire expressed by the Duke of Newcastle, instructions had been sent to the Agent of the Company in Vancouvers Island to suspend the sale of the Water frontage in the Town of Victoria claimed byManuscript image the Company as their private property.
2. Under these circumstances there is nothing more to be done in the matter at present.
