I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majestys Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, with reference to your letter of the 30th ult, that My Lords have selected Mr Wm Andoe of the Audit Office to conduct the enquiry into the Accounts of the Hudson's Bay Company, which appears to be necessary previously to making any further payment to the Company in respect oftheirManuscript image their claim in connexion with the resumption, by the Crown, of Vancouvers Island.
Mr Andoe has been directed to place himself at once in communication with the Colonial Office.
