Sir,
With reference to your Despatch No. 8 of the 26th of January last, I herewith transmit to you, the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. George Hunter Cary to be Attorney General for the Island of Vancouver and I have to instruct you to remit to Mr. Gordon Gairdner the Chief Clerk of my office the sum of £1-10-0 in repayment of the Stamp Duty due on this Warrant.
