I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that, on the application of Governor Douglas, Mr William A.G. Young, Paymaster RN, has been permitted to retain his appointment as ColonialSecretaryManuscript image Secretary at Victoria, and directions have been given for Mr Youngs discharge from the books of the Flag Ship on the Pacific Station where he had been ordered to be borne, for the purpose of waiting a passage to England.
