I have received and perused with much interest your despatch N
30 of the
9 of November last containing the latest accounts from
the Gold Mines in
British Columbia and reporting the progress made in the construction of Roads.
In conveying to you my cordial approval of the construction of the
route by
Harrisons River to a point of
Frasers River at an expenditure
of Ten thousand pounds (£10,000), You will bear in mind that I look to the payment
of all expenses connected with it out of local, and not from Imperial funds.
