I have received your despatch of the 11th of December No 49, reporting the appointment of certain public officers, therein named, to situations in VanCouver's Island.
I have no objection to offer to these nominations, it being distinctly understoodnotManuscript image not only that the Salaries of the officers in question are defrayed from the resources of VanCouver's Island, but that they in no degree interfere with the appointments I have found it necessary to make in British Columbia.
