I transmit herewith the Copy of a note from the French Ambassador at this Court requesting that he may be furnished with information as to the fate of a French subject named Jean Baptiste Massenot who is stated to have arrived at Victoria, Vancouver's IslandManuscript image in June last. I have to request that you will furnish me with the information required by the Duc de Malakoff.
