I transmit herewith for your information the copy of an Act which has been passed by the General Assembly of New Zealand and to which Her Majesty has been advised to giveManuscript image Her assent, entitled "An Act to make provision for the management of Gold Fields in the Colony of New Zealand."
I have forwarded this Act to you because the Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners, to whom it was referred, have reported that it has been judiciously framed and it may perhaps prove useful to you in considering any further regulations which it may be thought desirable to make in connectionwithManuscript image with the Gold discoveries in British Columbia.
