Newcastle acknowledges Douglas's despatches describing the developments in
British Columbia, adding that
I have perused these Reports with much satisfaction.

I have to acknowledge the receipt of your despatches marked Separate of
the 9th and the 25th of October last giving an account of your
recent journey through B. Columbia.
