Referring you to the letter of this Bank dated 23rd Ulto and to His Grace the Duke of Newcastle's reply of the 25th Ulto, I beg respectfully to inquire if the Report has yet been received from Governor Douglas relative to the acceptance of the tender of the Bank of British Columbia for the whole amount of the Loan of £50,000 and when the Debentures will be ready for delivery.

Acquaint the writers that the necessary law on the subject of the loan of £50,000 has been received from British Columbia and is about to be confirmed, and that whenever this is done, the Agents General for Crown Colonies will be instructed to prepare the debentures and toputManuscript image put themselves in communication with the Bank of British Columbia, with a view to their delivery, in pursuance of the arrangement made by the Governor.
