I have the honor to acknowledge your letter of the 7th Instant.

The Committee quite concurs in the view that it would be better if the instructions respecting the Lands in British Columbia should be given to Mr Seymour, and they desire to express their thanks to His Grace the Duke of Newcastle for his readiness to press the settlement of the question.
