I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30th Ultimo, with its enclosed Proclamation by the Governor of British Columbia substituting for a remission in the purchase money of land grants of a fixed extent in thecaseManuscript image case of Naval and Military Officers.
In reply I am to request that you will acquaint the Duke of Newcastle that Earl de Grey concurs in His Grace's proposal to sanction this measure.
