Sir,
I have received your Despatch of the 6th of June No. 16, forwarding
an authenticated copy of an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of
British Columbia entitled "An Ordinance to amend Customs Duties."
As I collect from your statement that it is possibleI I may receive
from Vancouver Island some Representation adverse to the 4th Clause of
this Act I think it proper to wait a short time before expressing any
opinion upon it.
