Seymour forwards Copies of an Ordinance … for the protection of Inventions and the Attorney General’s report and briefly explains why this ordinance was passed. Holland’s minute explains that This Act re-enacts & extends to the whole Colony the Invention Ordinance of 1864 and advises that it should be sanctioned.

I have the honor to forward an Authenticated and two plain Copies of an Ordinance of the recent Session of the Legislative Council, entitled;No. 12.Manuscript image
No. 12. An Ordinance for the protection of Inventions.

The report of the Attorney General is enclosed.
2. This measure is one of the many passed during the last session for the assimilation of the Laws of the two sections of the United Colony.
