No. 165
24th December 1867
My Lord Duke,
I have perused with care the papers forwarded for my consideration in Your Grace's despatch No. 67 of the 1st October 1867, respecting the selectionofManuscript image of a Seat of Government for the United Colony of British Columbia.
2. I do not understand that Your Grace desires that I should undertake the easy but lengthy task of commenting on the Statements contained in the printed Memorials.
I have the honor to be,
My Lord Duke,
Your most obedient humble Servant.

It appears to me that if Mr Seymour had perused with as much care his Grace's despatch as he says he has the enclosures he wd have found out that what his Grace wanted was that Govr Seymour should decide the Capital question!
