Seymour states that he closed the legislative session on 1 May 1868, and Seymour encloses the speech he made to close the session. Seymour describes the relationship between the representatives from different parts of British Columbia and the work performed during the legislative session. Cox’s minute suggests seeing 6304.

With reference to my despatch No. 32 of the 29th of April, announcing the opening of the Legislative Session, I have now the honor to state that I closeditManuscript image it yesterday by the speech I enclose.
2. Everything passed in the most satisfactory manner, and I was agreeably surprised to find the Gentlemen from the Mainland and those from Vancouver Island working so harmoniously together.
3. Twelve Ordinances have been passed and a variety of important Resolutions, all of which shall be broughtunderManuscript image under Your Grace's notice.
