I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, to transmit herewith, for the information of His Grace the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, a copy of a letter of the 30th October No 194 from Rear Admiral The Honble G.F. Hastings, reporting the steps he has taken in consequence of Anticipated Fenian Attacks on Vancouver Island.

We heard from the FO Consul at N. York thro' the F.O. that one of the intentions of the Fenians was to attack V.C.I. from Sn Francisco, wh news was telegraphed to Gov. Seymour.
