Cox to Buckingham
48 York Road
Kingstown
Ireland
March 13th 1868
Mrs William George Cox presents her Compliments to the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, returns thanks for the interest His Grace took in writing to British Columbia relative to her sad case. As it is stated in this year's Directory that her Husband, from whom she has not heard for months, is now in receipt of a salary of nine hundred a year, her Attorney considers that she should have two hundred a year, allocated to her, as Mr W.G. Cox was pleased to spend a large portion of her fortune at Dublin and New York she is now obliged to do needlework, the object of Mr Cox seems to be to throw her on the charity of relatives and friends, trusts her case may meet due consideration as She suffers much.
