I transmit to you for your information and guidance and with
               reference to your despatch No. 131 of the 
28th of September last, copies
               of a correspondence with the 
War Office from which you will see that
               although the Secretary of State for War is unable to withdraw
the
 the claim
               of his Department against your Government for £675.2.4 on account of
               certain revolvers and ammunition left by 
Colonel Moody, Royal Engineers,
               on loan for the use of the colony of 
British Columbia, he has no
               objection to allow the settlement of the claim to remain in abeyance
               until the necessary funds become available.
