Buckingham conveys Her Majesty's gracious Confirmation and Allowance of the British Columbia Ordinance No. 18 of that year entitled An Ordinance to amend the duties of Customs and transmits a report from the Customs Commissioners regarding the ordinance. Buckingham requests Seymour to consider amending the ordinance according to the directions in the report.

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No.
118 of the 18th September 1867 and to convey to you Her Majesty's
gracious Confirmation and Allowance of the British Columbia Ordinance
No. 18 of that year entitled "An Ordinance to amend the duties of
Customs."

I transmit to you a report which has been received from the
Commissioners of Customs from which you will observe that they suggest
alterations in Sections 4 and 8 of the Ordinance, and I have to request
that you will carefully consider that report with a view to an amendment
of those provisions in another Ordinance.
