I am directed by Mr Secretary Cardwell to transmit to you the accompanying medal for Long Service and Good Conduct awarded the man named in the margin

Pensioned Bombardier James Sullivan, Royal Artillery.

and I am to request you will move Earl Granville to cause the same to be forwarded to the Governor of Vancouver's Island, with a view to its delivery to Pensioner Sullivan, who is

now residing in that Island.
