Sir,
I have the honor to request that I may be allowed an extension of leave for a period of six months from the 1st March 1870.
I joined the Civil Service of British Columbia in March 1863, & camehomeManuscript image home in March 1869, on twelve months leave.
I am very anxious to proceed to Canada, where I have some relatives whom I have not seen for several years, & some private business that requires my presence.
Under these Circumstances I trust there will be no objection to granting my request.
