Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you with reference to my Predecessor's despatch No. 100 of the 25th November a copy of a letter from the Post Office enclosing copies of a correspondence with the Postmaster General of the United States on the subjectofManuscript image of the division of postage on correspondence passing between British Columbia and the United States.
I request that you will inform me whether your Government is prepared to accept the proposals made by the United States Government, and if so on what date you will be prepared to carry them into effect.
