Power is given to the Chief Justice to settle a scale of
fees & items for which fees may be taken & to vary such scale
from time to time.
The scale is not to take effect until it has been approved
by the Gov & appeared for a month in the Gov Gazette.
Sufficient scales of fees may be made for different parts of the
Colony. I should have thought it more convenient to have had
one uniform scale for the whole Colony. But this is a matter
upon which the local Legislature may be left to judge for themselves.
