I have had the honor to receive Your Lordship's Despatch N 42
               of the 
21 April last, acquainting me that the Lords
               
Commissioners of the Admiralty desired to be
informed
 informed what
               amount of punishment was awarded to two men, named 
Lyons, and
               
Shakespeare, who were convicted in the Colonial Court at
               
Esquimalt in 
1869, of having assisted two men in an attempt to
               desert from Her Majesty's Ship "
Satellite."
               
               2. In reply, I have the honor to acquaint you that 
Lyons was
sentenced
               sentenced to twelve months imprisonment, the last month with
               hard labour, and 
Shakespeare to three Months imprisonment with
               hard labour.
