Sir,
I have to acknowledge your Despatch No. 30 dated the 25th March last, submitting an Appropriation Ordinance, No. 1 of 1870, passed by the Legislative Council and yourself for the service of the year 1870. The Estimates on which the ordinance is founded havingbeenManuscript image been already submitted with your Despatch, No. 9 of the 29th January last.
2. Her Majesty's Government now give their sanction to the Estimates subject to the observations made in my Despatch acknowledging them No. 35 dated the 1st Ultimo and I have also to convey to you, and you will publish in the usual and most authentic manner, Her Majesty's confirmation and allowance of the Ordinance No. 1 of 1870 entitled as follows:AnManuscript image An ordinance to appropriate the sum of Three hundred and forty thousand, one hundred and five dollars, seventy five cents out of the general Revenue of the Colony, for the contingent service of the year 1870.
