I have the honor to acquaint you with reference to my Despatch No. 52 of the 2nd Instant that the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs has informed me that he fears it will be no use at present to moot the question of San Juan with the United States Government, but that CopiesofManuscript image of your Despatch and of the Resolution of the Legislative Council of British Columbia will be sent Confidentially to Her Majesty's Minister at Washington.
