Sir,
I transmit to you for your information and guidance and in reply to your Despatch No. 56 of the 6th May a copy of a letter from the Treasury from which you will be [?] perceive that the accounts of expenditure in connection with the Detachment of Royal Marines at San JuanIslandManuscript image Island are from the future to be made up from the 31st March in one year to the same date in the next.
In order to give effect to this arrangement I have to instruct you to forward to this Department as soon as possible the account for the Quarter ending 31st March last.
