I am directed by Lord John Russell to transmit to you, to be laid
before His Grace The Duke of Newcastle, a copy of a Despatch from Her
Majesty's Minister at Washington inclosing Papers received from the
United States Government notifying the removal of General Harney from
the Command in Oregon.
