The Board of Trade want to know before ordering these stores, how they are to be paid for. The cost of maintaining the Lighthouses must I suppose be divided (as in the case of one moiety of the cost of erecting them) between the 2 Colonies—B. Columbia & Vancouver Island. As soon therefore as the cost is ascertained the Agents General should be instructed to pay for the stores, & the Governor directed to remit the amount?
