Newcastle forwards Douglas a letter from the Inland Revenue Office requesting that Cary pay taxes he owes in Britain and asks that Douglas communicate this letter to Mr. Cary with a view to his making arrangements for the settlement of the claim.

Sir,

I transmit to you a copy of a letter from the Board of Inland Revenue relative to an arrear of assessed taxes due from Mr. G. H. Cary Attorney General for VanCouver Island, and I have to request that you will communicate this letter to Mr. Cary with a view to his making arrangements for the settlement of the claim.
