I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 35 of the 3rd June, transmitting a numerously signed Petition in which it is represented that the completing of the Bute Inlet Route is most desirable in the interest of the Colonies of British ColumbiaandManuscript image and Van Couver Island.
As you state that you have furnished Governor Seymour with a Copy of this Petition I have informed him that I await his report on the subject.
