I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, to send you herewith, for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon, a Copy of a letter from Rear Admiral the Hon. J. Denman dated H.Ms Ship "Sutlej" Esquimalt 26th August 1866, on the subject of the Defence and Colonization of Vancouver Island.
