Bonilla Point protrudes from the southwest shore of Vancouver Island, and marks the northwest entrance to the Juan de Fuca Strait. It was named in 1790 by Captain Manuel Quimper, presumably after Antonio Bonilla, secretary to the Spanish government in Mexico
at the time.1
