Lemon, John
John Lemon was a Métis man who owned twenty-nine acres of land in Victoria in 1855.1 He was registered as an owner in land-district section 18A.2James Douglas awarded Lemon twenty additional acres of land along Portage Inlet in 1859 as recognition for Lemon's work as a Victoria Voltigeur which were the first official Police force in the history of BC.3
