Nunes, William A.
William A. Nunes was appointed private secretary to Sir James Stephen, one of two under-secretaries of state of the Colonial Office in 1833.1 In 1849, he was made superintendent of the copy department, which was combined with appointment as registrar, in 1853.2 Nunes held the post until it was abolished in 1870.3
