With reference to my Letter of the
1st July 1859
requesting re-payment of expenses incurred by the Naval
Department, on account of supplies of Provisions supplied
to the Colony of
British Columbia, amounting to £5294.3.5,
and in reply to your Letter of the
16th July in the
same year, stating that the Estimate to be submitted to
Parliament for
British Columbia had not been voted, but
when that had taken place payment would be
ordered ordered; I am
commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, to
request that you will move His Grace the
Duke of Newcastle,
to cause the amount to be inserted in the Treasury
Estimates for the ensuing financial year, if not already done.
