Colvile’s letter to Pakington responds to Desart’s previous request that Pelly send a copy of an address made in the House of Commons, and supplies Pakington with a statement of colony expenditures.
The minutes state that copies of the statement of colony expenditures are to be sent
to the Land Board.
Of the two enclosures, the first is a report on land transactions made in the colony;
the second is a statement of colony expenditures on Vancouver Island.

I have the honor to enclose the answer to Lord Desart's letter of
the 2nd July, addressed to the late Sir John Henry Pelly, enclosing
copy of an address to Her Majesty from the House of Commons dated
17th June, and I take leave at the same time to enclose for your
information a detailed statement of the expenditure of £1986.4.9
incurred for Colonization and Improvements.

Colvile to Pakington, 24 November 1852, "By order of the Governor
Deputy Governor and Committee," reporting the quantity of land sold, the
number of settlers, the monies received from land sales, the monies
received from royalties, and the expenses incurred for colonization
from the date of the grant to 27 April 1852.
"Statement of payments applied to the Colonization and
improvement of Vancouver's Island to the 31st October 1852."
