I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Lord Desart's letter of the 27th Ultimo, transmitting to me, for the information of the Hudson's Bay Company, the copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Vancouver's Island, reporting the result of a canoe Expedition which he had made along the East Coast of the Island; and I have to express the thanks of the Governor and Committee for the communication of this information.
