Memo, Barclay to Elliot (Assistant Under-Secretary)

Mr Barclay presents his Compts to Mr Elliot and begs to acknowledge the receipt of his notes of yesterday and today, with the package and despatch for the Governor of Vancouver's Isld, which together with the despatch accompanying Mr Elliot's note of the 27th Ult, will be forwarded to their destination by a vessel about to Sail for Port Victoria.
Mr Barclay has to add that all the Despatches for the Govr of Vancrs Island whichManuscript image had been received at the HB House between the 4th February and the 4th August were forwarded by the "Colinda" which sailed on the latter day.
Mr Barclay begs to suggest that in cases where urgency is required in forwarding Despatches an intimation to that effect should be given, so that they may be sent by Mail, as there is sometimes a long interval between the departures of ships.
