Valdivia is a port city on the west coast of Chile. This 1855 despatch notes that Captain Mills was on route to Vancouver Island to convey Goods and 212 Passengers, coal miners and other Servants of the Hudson's Bay
Company, but when he stopped in at the Port of Valdivia there was, apparently, a mutiny of the Passengers.
